Information for first-semester students - all at a click!

Welcome to studying at the Technical University of Leoben!

The University Library team is looking forward to providing you with the best possible support on your way through your studies. To ensure that you get off to a good start or continue your studies in the best possible way, we would like to give you an overview of our services and all the important resources of the University Library.

Main Library and Subject Library

Our main library and the subject libraries offer quiet study and work spaces, but also group work spaces, cloakrooms with lockers, scanning facilities and free Wi-Fi access. How to find the libraries:

  • Main Library: Main Building of the University of Leoben, Franz Josef-Straße 18, 1st floor
  • Library in the Raw Materials Centre (RWZ): Erzherzog Johann-Straße 3, 5th floor
  • Specialist Library for Geosciences (FBG) including study room: Peter Tunner-Straße 5, 1st floor

Primo search engine

In ourPrimo search engine, you will find the literature relevant to your studies – from printed and electronic textbooks and textbooks to databases, standards and electronic journals. Books, journals and electronic resources can be used within the library without restriction. To access electronic resources from outside the library, make the necessary proxy settings and log in via VPN. Please always observe the corresponding terms of use.
In the textbook collection, which is located in the main library, you will find the current specialist literature recommended by the lecturers for your studies in printed form, but also in electronic form as far as possible.

Student ID

Your student ID card is also your library user card. As a student, you can log in directly to your library account with your MU-Online login data. In your account, you can see your current loans and loan periods, renew or reserve books and create personal favourites lists. If you are missing specialist literature in the library, use our Interlibrary loan service or send us your purchase proposal.
